luxelist: essential baby gear | Giggle + Puj + more

I’m taking inventory of the gear we have stowed away from when my son was a babe (cannot believe that was three years ago!!!) and figuring out what we need/want for the baby girl that we’re expecting soon. Here’s a roundup of some of the beautiful things that I have on hand for baby number two’s arrival:

Clockwise from left:

Belle Baby Carrier in Organic Jubilee Print: This is not my first Belle Carrier but it is new and improved with some design tweaks and a detachable head support panel that means you can use it much earlier for a newborn babe. I’ll still be using my other classic black Belle Carrier (as will my husband) with the new head support attachment, but I was thrilled to receive Belle’s latest and greatest for review. I love the subtle + pretty black and white print of the Jubilee.

Giggle Better Basics Swaddle Designs Blankets: These blankets are amazing for swaddling because the cotton-flannel fabric provides a secure and cozy swaddle. They absolutely live up to their name as the “Ultimate Receiving Blanket.” In addition to the Giggle exclusive Pinwheel design in fuschia, I also picked up the Better Basics Ultimate Organic Swaddle Blanket with fuschia trim.

Chewbeads Hudson Necklace: Super-cute and totally cool for baby to chew on. If you’re a mom that doesn’t want to give up her love of jewelry and accessorizing, this is an excellent option. Chewbeads are non toxic and totally safe for baby to touch and nibble on. The designer kindly sent the necklace for review and I can’t wait to put it to the test.

Serena & Lily by Hanna Anderson Pajamas: I heart Serena & Lily. This brand is known for their beautiful prints and textiles so naturally I was thrilled to receive a pair of the new Hanna Anderson PJ’s for Serena & Lily. The fabric is ultra-soft and cuddly and the prints live up to Serena & Lily fame.

Puj Unos Baby Shoes: No right, no left. These cute baby shoes are symmetrically designed so there’s no putting it on the wrong foot! They’re also machine washable, breathable fabric with non-slip soles. The only problem with receiving PR samples long before baby’s arrival is that it’s torture waiting to use them! These have been sitting on a shelf looking cute for a while now and I cannot wait to slip them on baby girl’s tiny feet.

Good Earth Fairy Doll: Baby’s first doll! She’s made from healthy, Oeko-Tex certified fabrics is also eco-friendly. This was among the many fun things I found on my first (of many) Giggle shopping sprees at their new Santa Monica store.

Dwell Studio Knit Sparrow Blanket: This beautiful blanket was also part of the Giggle shopping spree mentioned above. The color is gorgeous and it goes so well with the Dwell Studio Chocolate Dots crib bedding set that I already have. The soft lavender hue adds the perfect touch a femininity to our nursery set up.

Giggle Better Basics Scraptopus: Gotta love Giggle’s signature stripes and bright colors from the their giggle Better Basics collection. I think this item in particular makes a great gift and I’m sure babes have lots of fun playing with this cute little guy.

Buggy Love Organic Stroller Cleaning Kit: We primarily use our Maclaren Quest for my toddler son but our Quinny Buzz will soon be pulled out of the closet for baby girl and it could definitely use a little tune up and detailing. Luckily, we have the Buggy Love cleaning kit on hand to do the job (now I just have to move it up on my hubby’s to-do list). In addition to fabric cleaners and refreshers, the kit comes with some handy solution to eliminate any squeaks and squeals.

Serena & Lily Burps + Bibs: Already told you how much I love this brand so of course I was thrilled to receive a set of their Burps + Bib. The prints are gorgeous and the fabric is incredibly soft. They will definitely be in heavy rotation in this household.

Life Factory Silicone Teether: Must have many things for baby to munch on and this is a healthy choice. The colors are great! These can also be refrigerated for extra soothing on baby’s gums.

Life Factory 4 oz Glass Bottle: Love the colors on these and the glass is eco-friendly and free of bisphenol-A (BPA), phthalate, and polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

Hevea Bath Toys: When my son was a baby we fell into the trap of buying colorful + cute bath toys, many of which were not eco-friendly and also had holes (for squirting water) … so the water never really comes out completely and eventually you’re left with the potential for mold. Lesson learned. Hevea sent a set of their 100% natural rubber bath toys for review, which boast no PVC, no BPA, no phthalates, and no artificial colors. Totally safe, healthy and perfect for babies.
