Currently coveting a bunch of items from the i am BEYOND yoga wear collection. Here’s what designer + company founder Jodi Guber has to say about her cool line:
dena ~ What inspired you to launch a collection specific to yoga?
jodi ~ “Yoga was such a big inspiration in changing my life that I became a yoga teacher. I started teaching yoga and knew that while I loved it, I also had a desire to run a business. I simply followed the calling and it was the right thing to do. My goal was to bring the teachings of yoga, as well as the inspirational and psychological aspects of it, to a company. In short, to build a new model for a business, create a company that ran off the core aspects of yoga. I wanted the clothing to allow all women to feel good, especially in a world where we are bombarded by fashion and being thin.”

dena ~ How long have you been practicing yoga?
jodi ~ “I have been practicing yoga for over 20 years and teaching for about 10 years.”
dena ~ With so many competing lines out there, what sets yours apart?
jodi ~ “The intention of i am BEYOND is so clear, our clothing is made for everybody and every body. We are not a straight up activewear company. The line is for today’s modern women and was created to be multidimensional and fit the needs of women going from the gym, to carpool, or a lunch date with friends and allows her to feel good about how she is dressed. The lifestyle pieces are great paired with jeans, and the entire line is perfect for layering. i am BEYOND remains true to fashion, function, comfort and style.”

dena ~ What’s your basic design philosophy?
jodi ~ “Consideration of the female body with an emphasis on simplicity and comfort, but also stylish.”
dena ~ What are some of your personal fave styles that you wear often?
jodi ~ “Some of my favorites are the quilted capri leggings, the dolman tunic dress, the lift and support bra, and the pima modal wide neck tee (give it to me in any color and I’ll love it) perfect for layering to feel sexy yet covered. All four of these pieces also work beautifully together.”
