There’s nothing like waiting until the last minute, but with the massive amounts of tremendous music released in 2010, picking favorites wasn’t easy. From new offerings from reliable faves (Arcade Fire, Sufjan Stevens) to fun newcomers (Best Coast, Sleigh Bells) and amazing soundtracks (The Social Network, Daft Punk’s Tron Legacy), ears weren’t lacking for goodness this year.
Here’s what came out on top as the coolest music of 2010:
- Broken Social Scene – Forgiveness Rock Record
- Sleigh Bells – Treats
- Arcade Fire- The Suburbs
- Robyn – Body Talk
- Titus Andronicus – The Monitor
- Spoon – Transference
- School of Seven Bells – Disconnect from Desire
- She & Him – Volume Two
- Broken Bells – Broken Bells
- Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – Beat the Devil’s Tattoo
