Designer Q+A {Foley + Corinna} Fall 2010 Bags

I love love love Foley + Corinna handbags. An early glimpse of the fall collection revealed that this season there were not one but three bags on the must-have list. Can I narrow it down to one? Perhaps. Let’s see what designer Anna Corinna has to say about the Deco Crossbody in silver metal mesh, Bucklette Hobo in python, and Chainy Tote in black leather.

D~ What inspired each of these styles?

A~ “I designed the Deco Crossbody because I always love the idea of an evening bag you can wear during the day—bring sparkle to an everyday look. The Bucklette group came about from some amazing vintage military bags that I was totally in love with and fascinated by! And the Chainy bags were really just sort of an idea I had of how you could get three bags out of one—I really love multifunction accessories—it’s less to pack when traveling and gives you options.”

D~ Which style are you carrying now?

A~ “Right now I am carrying the Wrapped Chain Hobo—this is one of my all-time favorites—I love the pyramid mesh mixed with the shiny leather and heavy chain! And of course I use my City Tote constantly as my day/work/everything bag. I tend to use at least two bags a day… Is that crazy?! I guess that is what happens when you are around bags all day—I see my options and I want them all!!!”

D~ What is your favorite new fabrication for fall?

A~ “I’m in love with the black + cream python-embossed leather. It has such a luxe look but a bit vintage feel too, which is always good for me. I also love the pyramid metal mesh. It feels so good and has such a pretty drape.”

D~ Do you switch bags often or carry the same one for an extended period of time?

A~ “I have my day/work bag that I’ll use forever and then I’ll have my fun night/ brunch/ going out bag, which I switch constantly.”

D~ What essential items are always in your bag? This is the famed “what’s in your bag” question that you probably answer all the time).

A~ “Phonewalletkeys. That is what I say to myself whenever I walk out the door—with these three things I could do anything anywhere!”

D~ Will any of these styles be carried over to Spring 2011?

A~ “Yes, I always carry over my favorites, We are finishing Spring ’11 now, so there will definitely be some carryover but probably in new leathers or colors or perhaps new details. You’ll have to stay tuned.”
