I am a devoted Helmut Lang fan and have been for years. Amazing prints, cool silhouettes and edgy details are what I’ve come to expect from Nicole and Michael Colovos, and they did not disappoint with the latest collection for Spring 2013. The dark neutrals, grey and white that we’ve come to expect are still there, but they’ve punctuated the color story with vivid red, bright orange and a striking sea blue that caught my eye due to its resemblance to a Jerome Dreyfuss bag that I have (and love).
This collection is definitely my favorite from the NYFW presentations for Spring 2013. Nicole Phelps of Style.com offers further insight into what makes this collection so cool: “Made in collaboration with the tattoo artist Thomas Hooper, scrolling medallion motifs decorated motocross jackets and short, fitted dresses; the jacquard print of a bright red crustacean on a T-shirt dress was inspired by the designers’ own photo research of underwater creatures. With the sea as a central theme, many of the pieces they sent out had a slick, wet look.”

These are my four favorite looks, which I hope to find in my closet come spring:
