Fabric is what the Spring 2013 Creatures of the Wind collection is all about. Just a mere glance at their pieces and you can see the designers, Shane Gabier and Chris Peters, are obsessed with fabric. Rich brocades, romantic tulle, python lamé, lemon-yellow leather, and eye-catching geometrics. But the designers’ emphasis on shape—specifically the crisp, boxy silhouettes from the 60s—is what I find most compelling about this collection. They’re feminine, but shown in generous proportions, each piece feels not quite volumunous. More light and airy. The collection gives a little nod to the Jackie O-inspired cropped jackets of yesteryear—and then firmly flips it on it’s head. See the rest of the collection at Style.com
