When these babies arrived for review I could barely wait long enough to take an Instagram before trying them on. Slipped them on and did not want to take them off. Had the day not already been half over, I would have left them on but decided I’d rather wait until the following day so I could enjoy them for a full day the first time I wear them. Needless to say, I expect to be wearing these a ton (as much as I’ve been wearing the crepe hoodie they sent me a couple of weeks ago)—probably to the point that the hubs will eventually call me out. Will be pairing these knit beauties time and again with tanks, tees and maybe a solid lightweight sweater. I love how they styled it with a killer lace-up boot but I have a feeling I’ll be pairing these with sandals for most of the summer and maybe some cool flats come fall. The contrasting wale knit fabric is beyond cool and the zipper details give the pant a casual chic vibe. Cannot tell you how perfect these are for my lifestyle. I could go on but instead I give you LnA designers April + Lauren on what makes this piece so amazing, as well as a slideshow of this crepe collection:
Dena ~ What inspired you to create the beach sweat?
April ~”We wanted to design a sweat that went beyond your basic lounge-around-the-house sweats. The silhouette is flattering and simple, and the zip pockets dress it up a bit. The crepe knit is heathered black so it gives the pant some dimension and just makes it more interesting.”
Dena ~ What came first, the fabric or the idea for the pant?
April ~ “We developed the fabric first. The fabric is so unique that we knew the design of the pant would be simple.”
Dena ~ How did you modify the summer style after it sold out for spring 12?
Lauren ~ “The Summer style is a completely different design from the spring pant. The spring sweat was more of a fashion sweat with the zip front and tapered leg ,while the summer beach sweat is a take on a classic california sweat pant.”
Dena ~ Do you plan on doing a fall version? Think this will become a signature silhouette for LnA?
Lauren ~ “In every collection we offer a new style of sweat and legging.”
Dena ~ Love how you styled it with LnA tees and tanks but if you were to wear it with a top from another designer, who/what would it be?
April ~ “Hmmm, if we were to go super high end and fun we would pair it with one of Balmain’s structured embellished jackets layered over a slouchy tee.”
Dena ~ So far you’ve done grey and black… any thoughts on trying some color?
Lauren ~ “Yes, coming out soon!”
