Behold the latest addition to my ever-expanding denim arsenal. Burgundy happens to be one of my favorite colors so when I spotted these in the Paige Denim fall 2010 lookbook, I knew they had to be mine. Dubbed the Eternity Jean, this legging style is among the latest offerings from denim devotee Paige Adams Geller. She sent a pair over and I shimmied myself into them immediately. The color is gorgeous and a nice addition to any fall wardrobe palette. I love wearing the Eternity Jean with grey or black tops and expect this denim legging to be in heavy rotation for many season to come.

Now, I give you an interview with the inspiring founder + creative director of Paige Premium Denim:

D~ Which styles/washes are you most excited about for fall 10 and which ones will you wear this season?

P~ “I’m super-excited about our non-denim, like our corduroy Verdugo Jegging in Peacock, our Kenya trouser-pocket skinny and our gorgeous leather jackets. The Northwick jacket has sleeves and collar that zip off so you can wear it as a vest—three in one! The jeans I’m really excited to wear are my camouflage Super Tanzania Verdugo Jeggings, the Belle Jegging (which is like a little black dress in denim), my black velvet Lou Lou Tulip Jeans, the slouchy Jayden, and the wide leg Bentley Trouser.”

D~ Do you have a number one fave cut/style that you wear season after season?

P~ “Probably the best Paige jean for everyone, for all seasons, is the Skyline Ankle Peg, our standard rise skinny with a 12” leg opening that hits at the ankle. It can be worn with flats, heels, or tucked into boots and works on both tall and petite girls.”

D~ When styling your own wardrobe, what designers do you pair with your jeans?

P~ “I love wearing Helmut Lang, Stella McCartney, Rick Owens, Elizabeth and James on top. As far as shoes, I love Chloe, YSL, Christian Louboutin, and Alaia.”

D~ You were a pioneer in premium denim. Is it difficult to see an over-saturated market full of premium wannabes?

P~ “Yes, it can be difficult to see brands that call themselves premium when they are not. Denim is one of the most difficult products to get right. Every roll of denim shrinks differently than the next and every wash makes denim react differently. I have focused on fit as being the differentiating factor for our brand and we make an effort to keep all of our fits consistent. I use top notch denim and take pride in wear testing every fabric and every new style. There are a lot of denim brands that don’t always use the best denim and definitely don’t stay consistent with their sizing. They may call themselves premium but the price is not, nor is the quality.”

D~ How has your business changed now that there are so many competitors?

P~ “My business has changed for the better! Even during the most difficult times, we have always stayed true to our foundation which is to make great fitting jeans of amazing quality. Since we have stayed true to ourselves, we have been able to have staying power while we continue to grow the brand domestically, as well as internationally.”

D~ What are your signature styles/best sellers right now?

P~ “Paige was founded on our signature boot cut, the Laurel Canyon. Our most popular styles of the moment are the Lou Lou Tulip Jean, the Layne Cargo, and our Verdugo Jeggings.

D~ Are there any new fall styles that will be carried over for spring 11 in new washes?

P~ “Yes! The Bentley trouser will be in a really cool 70′s wash and also in non denim, and the Kenya trouser will come back in a cropped version in non denim as well. Paige’s signature flare, the Lou Lou Tulip Jean, will come in white and a great new super soft denim wash.

[Reader Questions:]

Crosby Noricks @PR_Couture ~ How has social media shifted your PR/marketing sytetegies?

P~ “We have had a lot of fun using social media and it has really helped grow our brand. For example, right now we have a modeling contest running on Facebook, which helps brings awareness to the brand and drive customers to the site.  I also love to tweet and tell people what’s going on in my world.  Tweeting has helped us to develop more Paigeaholics and create a personal connection with my customers or fans—I love having the ability to do that. The brand is called Paige because I love to connect with people and want them to know that there really is a Paige!”

Becki J Singer @shoppingscardio ~ Would love to know Paige’s denim silhouette of choice for this fall.

P~ “My silhouette of choice for this fall is the Laguna baby boot. It is the perfect marriage between the Lou Lou Tulip Jean and a skinny.”
