Observe my latest t-shirt obsession. Eighteenth is a progressive new line that pushes the boundaries of the T with bold design details, while maintaining a minimalist vibe with classic colors and clean lines. Here's what Parsons grad and former intern for Daryl K, Alexa Galler, has to say about her cool fashion endeavor:
D~ What inspired you to create this line?
A~ "Basically, I love t-shirts and wear them all the time, but I got bored with just wearing basics. So, voila, Eighteenth was born."
D~ Was there a specific instance when you put on a t-shirt and thought, I can do this and do it better/cooler?
A~ "I can’t remember a specific instance, but I was always interested in taking something ordinary and everyday and turning it into something interesting and different, while still being simple and wearable."
D~ What are your faves from the Spring 10 collection?
A~ "I’m partial to 006, which is a one-strap tank with sharp lines and angels. I also really like 002 with the back cutouts."
D~ What have you added/edited from the collection for Fall 10?
A~ "For fall, I did fewer cutouts, because it is cold outside. Instead I focused on unique hems and necklines."
D~ Are there any styles that will remain in the line year-round?
A~ "I change the styles each season, but there are some details that I repeat."
D~ Since these T's are great layering pieces, what other designers/brands do you wear with them?
A~ "The tees are versatile, they really go with anything."
