Rebecca Minkoff’s debut shoe collex for Spring 2011 is already creating a buzz. There are 25 styles and come Jan./Feb. ’11 you’ll be able to get them at Saks and shopbop.com

Here’s what the designer has to say about her latest fashion endeavor:

D~ What inspired you to do a shoe collection?

R~ “The Rebecca Minkoff girl inspired me to do the shoe collection. She’s been asking for them for a while now, and it is a huge joy of mine to have them ready just in time for spring 2011.”

D~ What were the challenges you faced in releasing the collection? Was it very different from doing bags?

R~ “We have been striving to create a complete women’s footwear line for quite a while now and wanted the collection to feel as natural as the bags and ready-to-wear collections. Of course designing shoes is quite different from designing bags and RTW—so many different elements are involved.”

D~  Which styles are you wearing? (Assuming you have early access to the samples!)

R~ “I am currently obsessed with the Femme heel, as well as the Dolly boot—I can’t seem to find an excuse to take them off!”

D~ Which styles are getting the most buzz?

R~ “The shoes that were in the NYFW presentation recently have been generating amazing press. They’re styles that I like to call ‘eight-hour shoes’—you can wear them all day and still be comfortable yet fashionable.”

D~  Any buyer faves yet?

R~ “Our buyers have been remarkable! They’re already preparing for future seasons and putting in personal orders. We’ve had an overall amazing response.”
