Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of being introduced to this amazing product. I’ve heard great things about the brand but until now hadn’t tried anything. Thankfully, LMDB PR set me up with over an hour of beauty treats at my local Neiman Marcus (Stanford Shopping Center, Palo Alto), starting with this skincare set that just launched for fall.
Le Métier product specialist Ben Monroy ushered me into a spa treatment room , tucked into a corner of Neiman’s cosmetic department. First, I washed my face with Daily Renew Cleanser and Ben followed with a swipe of Daily Refresh Tonic (which I instantly fell in love with, thanks to its invigorating blend of vitamins and oils). My face was fresh and clean, ready to try the new CHEM60 Pro-Peel and GLOW10ai Mask. Of course, one of the things I noticed right away was the sleek, chic packaging, and I was especially intrigued by the delivery system for the Pro-Peel. A twist of the applicator brush and one squeeze from the tube dispenses the recommended amount of product to apply a thin layer over the face (paying special attention to the T-zone and avoiding the eye area and hairline). The formula is a blend of Salicylic and Glycolic acid that gently penetrates the skin’s surface. A mere 60 seconds later (and no burning sensation whatsoever) I was leaning over the sink again to splash tepid water over my fave, rinsing the peel away.
Next, we applied the GLOW10ai mask, which was soothing and slightly cool and took 12 minutes to dry. It’s important to use a thick layer of the mask so that it easily peels off when dry. I removed the mask while looking in a mirror and could immediately see that my skin was in fact glowing. It felt and looked as if I’d just emerged from a full-hour facial treatment but this had taken only a quarter of the time and could be done in the comfort of my own home or in a hotel while traveling. Two days later and I can still tell a difference in my skin.
This set is a Neiman Marcus exclusive. The price for the set is $265 but I believe it’s worth every pretty penny. (You can’t even get two facials for that.) The recommended usage is 2-3 times per week but I think I’d start with once a week and leave the peel on longer (the max is five minutes). My guess is the set would last a month or two (depending on frequency of usage) and I’m confident that after using it on a regular basis, my skin would be better hydrated and glowing all the time. It’d be a secret weapon in my beauty cabinet that would easily repair the damage done to my skin on a daily basis (from those things we all suffer from these days: stress, lack of sleep, dehydration, etc. … and of course aging.)
P.S. Check back soon for another Beauty Cabinet review of Le Métier de Beauté’s famed Peau Vierge products and new color launches for fall and holiday 2012.
