For years, I’ve been hearing about TATCHA’s oil-blotting beauty papers, in part due to their cult following. What I didn’t realize is that the company has an entire line of skincare products based on the beauty secrets of Japanese geisha. TATCHA‘s lovely publicist sent me a sample kit with a variety of products to try, and while I was impressed with them all, my absolute favorite was the Gentle Rice Enzyme Powder. When combined with water, this enzyme powder of rice bran, papaya and HADASEI-3 Bioactive Complex turns into a lilac liquid that gently exfoilates the face without stripping the skin. The product is extremely gentle thanks to licorice root that helps soothe sensitive skin, and when I rinsed it away, my face was bright, smooth and baby soft. As it turns out, TATCHA‘s treatments are based on ancient geisha beauty regimes found in a 200-year-old manuscript, and I have no doubts that their products will continue to stand the test of time.
