The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Since I have a shoe obsession, it’s no surprise to me that my 2-year-old is also a footwear fanatic. Most mornings, I find her in my closet trying on my shoes and strutting through my bedroom. High heels are “Mommy’s High Shoes” while any gold or silver shoe is simply “Fancy.”
When Livie and Luca’s Pio Pio Gold Mary Janes arrived at our house the other day for review, my girl squealed in delight and pleaded with me to try them on immediately. And even though it’s still flip-flop and sandal season, Charlotte has insisted on wearing her “Gold Birdie Shoes” practically every day since. I can’t blame her: The leather is velvety soft and the soles are made from super durable rubber that helps her navigate the playground like nobody’s business. And the compliments on the street keep rolling in—people keep asking where we got those shoes! I mean, really, is there anything more adorable than tiny feet adorned in animal appliqués?
