One look at that headline and I’m sure you are thinking wtf? But the pic probably gave you a clue that Foonf and Oobr are beautifully designed carseats from a company named Clek. My littles are both ready for carseat upgrades and I’m beyond thrilled to discover Clek! These are by far the coolest looking carseats I’ve ever seen. Beyond looks, they also impress with innovative and unmatched safety features. Plus, they are completely recyclable.
First let’s talk about Foonf. Coming soon (early August 2012) and currently available for pre-order, this convertible carseat boasts easy installation (designed to optimize space in smaller vehicles, too), a smooth recline function, narrow width, and energy absorbing foam layers for safety and comfort. Plus, little things that parents will totally appreciate like magnets to keep the harnesses open when you’re putting the kiddo in the seat. It will also allow you to keep the child rear facing longer than other seats, with a limit of 45 lbs (and up to 65 lbs forward facing).
Now about that Oobr [below]… This fullback booster caught my eye because of its cool colors and styling. After getting the scoop on the safety features I knew it was a strong contender in our search for a booster seat. The unique recline feature, adjustable headrest and improved shoulder belt fit pretty much sealed the deal for me. Both seats have a rigid latch system, which seems pretty genius, and use Crypton Super fabrics to protect against those inevitable spills. They are also made of steel and magnesium (the magnesium frame is an industry first).
Seriously cannot wait to take my babes for a spin in these. Our Oobr arrives next week and you better believe I’ll be instagraming it as soon as I strap in my 4 year old. After seeing the pics and videos, he is super excited about his new seat—asking over and over again if I’ve ordered it yet and when it will be here. (I decided it was time to give him a little lesson about UPS tracking numbers). I also let him choose the color (well, I let him choose between dragonfly green and blue moon and he chose the layter). And while I was tempted by the Snowberry hue for my baby girl, I ordered her Foonf in Dragonfly green and will very much be looking forward to its arrival in early August, direct from Clek.
