With baby number two on the way, I’m taking inventory of the gear we have and evaluating whether or not those items need to be upgraded. There are lots of cool new things on the market now (since the birth of my first kiddo).

We are already big fans of the Maclaren Volo stroller— it’s been our go-to choice for about two years, for traveling and on-the-go use (I keep it in the trunk of the car). But while it served us well, I was more than happy to upgrade to the Heritage Buggy when Maclaren PR sent one for review. The Baby Luxe editor (age 3) was super-psyched to give it a whirl, so much so that he skipped his usual attempt to push the stroller instead of riding in it. What better place to put it to the test than Disneyland? [Side note: as annual pass holders we've been to Disneyland and California Adventure A LOT this year, and the only reason I was eager to go again, while preggers, was to test out our new wheels.]

Part of the cool Object of Design series, the Heritage Buggy is a Maclaren Quest stroller. The butcher stripe fabric—further proof of my obsession with stripes—is reminiscent of the first buggy designed by Owen Maclaren. I love the classic fabric design because it’s timeless and unisex. So what’s the diff between the Volo and the Quest/Heritage? The Quest model has a more comfortable padded seat cover, an adjustable foot rest, and it reclines (bonus for naptime). I also like the dark-colored sun shade/hood of the Heritage because our Volo was a light grey hood, which was always dirty because of the wheels rubbing against it while folded. The Heritage also boasts a sturdier transport handle than the Volo’s adjustable strap.

That said, the Volo is absolutely an amazing stroller. But the Heritage (Quest) is just a little bit more luxe, and well worth the extra dough if prefer those additional features.
